990H Wheel Loader Warning Light for the Autolube{7540}

Usage:

990H BWX
Wheel Loader:
990H (S/N: BWX1-UP)

Introduction

The solution to this problem has been communicated in the publication that is listed below.

Problem

The autolube indicator comes on after the machine is started. The system pressure is not rising fast enough when the machine is first started and this is causing the fault light to come on.

Solution

In order to correct this warning light, increase the flow to the autolube pump by turning the screw. Turn the adjustment clockwise. Then turn out a quarter of a turn. This is the screw on the side of the manifold and the factory setting was one turn. The adjustment needs to be made at high idle with the fan at minimum speed. Set the pressure at this condition close to 3500 psi. Use the screw on the front of the manifold. When you adjust the pressure use the pressure indicator. Do not use the ET because that transducer is downstream. The 3500 psi reading should be taken at a stall condition. Take the reading at the end of a cycle. The 3500 psi reading should be taken at a stall condition at the end of the cycle.

Cycle the autolube for 60 seconds or less. The autolube is operating properly when 3500 psi is reached or close to 3500 psi. Running the pump too fast causes an excessive pressure drop from the pump to the injectors. A pump that is run fast will cause a pulsation in the steering. The hydraulic pump will not respond to pulsations as the hydraulic pump does not have a pilot relief system.
