Conversion Group Available For Increased Power{0600}

Usage:

3208 TA Marine Engines ( 1Z4042-Up)

Conversion groups are available to increase the horsepower of 3208 Marine Pleasure Craft Engines (1Z4042-Up). The conversion groups will provide an additional 14 kW (20 hp) from 265 kW (355 hp) to 280 kW (375 hp).

The "basic changes" required on all applicable engines are:

* Fuel injection pump bonnets and bushings.
* Turbocharger water lines.
* Sea water pump cam.
* Readjustment of full load static fuel setting and high idle.

A conversion group is available for each of the following serial number ranges:

Engines 1Z4501-Up require only the "basic changes".

Engines 1Z4227-1Z4500 require "basic changes" and new flow-thru water cooled manifold elbows.

Engines 1Z4042-1Z4226 require "basic changes", new flow-thru water cooled manifold elbows and a larger capacity heat exchanger bundle assembly.

Engines preceding 1Z4042 are not readily convertible because of extensive changes required to the front gear train and fuel injection pump group.

Engine Data Sheet 100.2.1 gives additional engine specifications. Special Instruction, Form SEHS8586 gives complete installation instructions and parts lists.
