(54) Control handle (Implements)

The implement hydraulic system can be divided into three basic systems. The three different systems are the pilot system, the main hydraulic system, and the hydraulic fan system. Hydraulic oil tank (44) is common to all three systems.

Pilot control valve (2) is located in the cab beneath the implement control handle (54).

Main control valve (1) and dual tilt control valve (8) are located in the middle of the front of the non-engine end frame.

Tilt cylinders (10) and (11) are horizontal and attached to push arm (52) .

Lift cylinders (12) and (13) are attached vertically to the front of the non-engine end frame.

Pressure sensor (23) for the discharge for the implement pump is mounted above the torque converter housing.

Manual valve (32) which is located near the hitch lowers the lift cylinders in case of loss to hydraulics.

Check valve (31) for the air purge is located at the discharge port of the implement pump (large section).

Relief valve (37) for implement pilot oil pressure is located behind the cab on the right side of the engine end frame.

Fan motor (15) is located on the back side of the radiator.

Makeup valve (14) is located near the fan motor.

Solenoid valve (16) for the hydraulic fan is located on the back firewall of the pump compartment.

Filter (39) for the pilot system is located just beneath the cab on the right side of the engine end frame.

Implement pump (24) has a large pump section and a small pump section. Implement pump (24) is located behind the cab under the operator's platform. The pump is attached to the front of the right side of the torque converter housing.

Breaker relief valve (28) is located on the top side of the right hydraulic oil tank (44) .

Cooler bypass valve (19) is located near the fan motor.

Oil cooler (25) is located in front of the radiator.

High pressure screens (18) and (20) are located on the back of the radiator near the fan motor (if equipped).

Pilot pump (41) for the implements is located on the front and in the center of the torque converter housing.

Hydraulic oil tank (44) is located beneath the operator platform on the right side of the cab.

Fan pump (49) is located on the back of the right side of the torque converter housing.

Control handle (54) for the implements is on the right side of the operator seat in the cab.

Bulldozer trunnion (51) allows the blade to pivot upward. The trunnion also allows the blade to pivot downward.

Push arm (52) acts as a brace to keep the blade in position.

Case drain filters (29) and (47) are located in the pump compartment near the implement pump.

Stabilizer link (53) stabilizes the blade when the blade is in the TILT LEFT or when the blade is in the TILT RIGHT position.

Pressure taps (5), (6), and (7) are on the diagnostic plate that is located under the platform behind the cab.

Pressure tap (38) is located on the manifold for relief valve (37) .

Pressure tap (50) is located on the manifold for solenoid valve (16) .

The lift function and the tilt function on this machine are controlled with a pilot system.

Pilot System

The pilot system controls the movement of the lift and tilt valve spools in main control valve (1) .

The pilot system consists of the following components: pilot control valve (2), pilot pump (41), hydraulic oil tank (44), and control lever (54) .

ReferenceFor additional information about the pilot system, refer to the Service Manual module System Operation, "Pilot Hydraulic System" for the machine that is being serviced.

Main Hydraulic System

The main hydraulic system supplies the force that is necessary to move the blade.

The main hydraulic system consists of the following components: main control valve (1), dual tilt control valve (8), tilt cylinders (10) and (11), lift cylinders (12) and (13), implement pump (24), and hydraulic oil tank (44) .

ReferenceFor additional information about the main hydraulic system, refer to the Service Manual module System Operation, "Main Hydraulic System" for the machine that is being serviced.

Hydraulic Fan System

The hydraulic fan system cools the oil that is in the hydraulic system.

The hydraulic fan system consists of the following components: fan motor (15), makeup valve (14), solenoid valve (16), cooler bypass valve (19), oil cooler (25), screens (20) and (18) (if equipped), hydraulic oil tank (44), and fan pump (49) .

ReferenceFor additional information about the hydraulic fan system, refer to the Service Manual module System Operation, "Hydraulic Fan System" for the machine that is being serviced.
