Installation Procedure

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

1. Install Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to differential and bevel gear (2), as shown. The weight of differential and bevel gear (2) is approximately 1111 kg (2450 lb). Position differential and bevel gear (2) onto Tooling (A). Remove Tooling (B). Install new bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 875 ± 125 N·m (645 ± 92 lb ft). Then, turn bolts (1) by an additional 120° ± 10°.

End By:

1. Install the axle shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Axle Shaft - Install".
2. Install the front trunnion of the rear axle. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Trunion Support (Oscillating Axle, Front) - Install".
