993K Wheel Loader Electrohydraulic System Caterpillar

Implement Cycle Time - Check

Usage:

993K Z9K

------ WARNING! ------

Sudden movement or accidental starting of the machine can cause personal injury or death to persons on or near the machine.

To prevent personal injury or death, perform the following:

Park the machine on a smooth, level surface.

Lower the work tool to the ground and engage the parking brake.

Stop the engine and remove the key.

Block the wheels and install the steering frame lock.

The test for the implement cycle time is used to verify a complaint about slow speed. This test will also help to determine whether all functions are slow or only one function is slow.

If any functions are slow, the implement cycle times must be checked in order to determine the faulty system.

Note: For all cycle time tests, the bucket must be empty.

  1. Move the machine to an open area so that the bucket can be fully raised. Park the machine on a smooth, level surface.

  2. Connect the steering frame lock link.

  3. Engage the parking brake.

  4. Shift the transmission to neutral.

  5. Start the engine and warm the hydraulic oil to 65 ± 3°C (150 ± 5°F).

  6. Position the bucket so that the bottom of the bucket is flat on the ground.

  7. Run the engine to high idle. Maintain high idle for the test.

  8. Move the lift control lever to the RAISE position. Hold the lift control lever in the full RAISE position until the lift cylinders reach the full RAISE position. Record the lift time from the ground to the full RAISE position.

The lift time should be 9.4 seconds.

  9. Lower the bucket until the bucket is barely off the ground. Set the lower kickout.

  10. Raise the bucket to the maximum height.

  11. With the engine at high idle, move the lift control lever to the full LOWER DETENT position. Record the time from the full RAISE position to the lower kickout position at the ground.

The time should be 3.7 seconds.

  12. Move the bucket to the full RAISE position. Position the bucket to the full TILT BACK position.

  13. With the engine at high idle, move the tilt control lever to the full DUMP position. Hold the tilt control lever in this position until the bucket is at the full DUMP position. Record the time to the full DUMP position.

The time should be 2.1 seconds.

  14. Position the bucket approximately 300 mm (12 inch) above the ground with the bottom parallel to the ground.

  15. With the engine at high idle and with the bucket in a level position, move the tilt control lever to the full TILT BACK position. Hold the tilt control lever in this position until the bucket is against the stop. Record the time from the level position to the full TILT BACK position.

The time should be 2.4 seconds.
