Installation Procedure

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Note: Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary. Lubricate the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury. To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.

1. Install spring (8) into pilot selector and pressure control valve (3). Install spacers (9). The spacers must contact straight thread adapter (11). The spacers must contact spring (8) .

2. Install O-ring seal (10) and straight thread adapter (11). Install stem (7), O-ring seal (6), and straight thread adapter (5) .

3. Install selector and pressure control valve (3). Connect tube assemblies (2). Connect hose assemblies (4).

4. Remove Tooling (A) .

5. Measure the pressure for the pilot selector and pressure control valve at the pressure tap. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Selector and Pressure Control Valve - Adjust". If necessary, add shims to the pilot selector and pressure control valve.

End By:

1. Charge the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System - Pressure Release/Charge".
2. Separate the frame lock link. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Frame Lock Link - Separate and Connect".
3. Remove the wheel chocks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel Chock (Front and Rear) - Remove and Install".
