Relays
Engine Start Relay
In order to engage the engine start relay, the following conditions must be met.
- The direction switch is set to NEUTRAL position.
- The keyswitch is turned to START position.
- Engine speed has not been above 550 RPM for 10 seconds.
- ECM has completed the sequence for start-up .
- System voltage is below 32 volts.
Ride Control (if equipped)
The power train ECM activates the ride control when the ride control switch is placed in the ON position. The activation is based on the machine ground speed in the AUTO position. The ride control system diminishes the effects of a loaded bucket when the machine moves at higher speeds.
Backup Alarm
The backup alarm (10) will be turned ON by the power train ECM whenever the direction switch is set to reverse.
Modulating Valves
Illustration 2 | g00886757 |
The modulating valves are used to regulate the oil flow to the clutches in the transmission. When a direction and speed are selected by the operator, the power train ECM (1) activates the solenoid (16) on the appropriate modulating valves (17). Two solenoids must be activated for movement of the machine. One solenoid is for the direction and one solenoid is for the speed. When an operator selects a direction and speed, the solenoid receives a signal from the power train ECM. The power train ECM adjusts the signal to the solenoid in order to adjust the flow of oil to the transmission clutches from the modulating valve.
The machine is equipped with the following modulating valves:
- Modulating valve for clutch 1 (2) (forward low)
- Modulating valve for clutch 2 (3) (forward high)
- Modulating valve for clutch 3 (4) (reverse)
- Modulating valve for clutch 4 (5) (second speed)
- Modulating valve for clutch 5 (6) (third speed)
- Modulating valve for clutch 6 (7) (first speed)
Other Outputs
The power train ECM (1) also sends information to the engine ECM (15) via the CAT data link (13). The power train ECM (1) also sends information to the dash panel cluster (14) from the engine ECM and the service connector (12) via the CAT data link (11) .
