NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat^® products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Park the machine on level ground. Engage the parking brake and stop the engine.

The oil tank for the Rear Access Egress System (RAES) is located on the left side of the machine. Open the access panel.

Press the button on the breaker relief valve (2) in order to relieve any tank pressure.
Remove the filler cap (1). Remove the strainer from the tube.
Wash the strainer and the filler cap in a clean, nonflammable solvent.

The oil tank for the RAES is equipped with an ecology drain (3). Attach a hose to an oil drain coupling. Install the oil drain coupling into the drain plug opening in order to open the internal drain valve. Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container.
Clean the drain plug and install the drain plug.
Install the filler strainer.
Fill the tank with 13.2 L (3.5 US gal) of clean Synthetic ATF oil. Maintain oil level within the sight gauge (4).
Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities" for the correct type of oil and for the correct amount of oil.
Install filler cap (1).
