Note: The oil grooves are essential for the cooling of the brake discs. Replacement of the friction discs is recommended after fifty percent of the original depth is worn off of the oil groove on either side of the disc.

(8) (9) Install the seals dry, and then coat the entire assembly with petroleum jelly.

(9) Install the backup ring on the seal, as shown.
