Introduction

The 3T-2173 Relay Assembly (12 VDC) is replaced by the 115-1615 Relay Assembly (12 VDC) . The 3T-2170 Relay Assembly (24 VDC) is replaced by the 3E-5239 Relay Assembly (24 VDC) .

Note: In order to service replace the 3T-2173 Relay Assembly (12 VDC) and the 3T-2170 Relay Assembly (24 VDC) , a 216-5383 Wire As is required to be able to adapt the replacement relay.

Installation of 12 VDC Relay

1. Turn machine key switch to the OFF position. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the open position (disconnect the B+ terminal from the battery).

2. Remove the 3T-2173 Relay As (12 VDC).

   Note: Note the terminal number and the wire color (and circuit number if marked) for each wire connected to the 3T-2173 Relay As (12 VDC) before disconnecting the 3T-2173 Relay As (12 VDC) from the machine or engine harness.

3. Connect the 216-5383 Wire As to the service replacement 115-1615 Relay As . Secure the 115-1615 Relay As to the panel by using the mounting tab on the 115-1615 Relay As . Refer to Illustration 1 and Table 2.

4. Reconnect B+ terminal to the battery. Turn machine key switch to the ON position. Start the machine to confirm operation of the 115-1615 Relay As (12 VDC).

Installation of 24 VDC Relay

1. Turn machine key switch to the OFF position. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the open position (disconnect the B+ terminal from the battery).

2. Remove the 3T-2170 Relay As (24 VDC).

   Note: Note the terminal number and the wire color (and circuit number if marked) for each wire connected to the 3T-2170 Relay As (24 VDC) before disconnecting the 3T-2170 Relay As (24 VDC) from the machine or engine harness.

3. Connect the 216-5383 Wire As to the service replacement 3E-5239 Relay As (24 VDC). Secure the 3E-5239 Relay As (24 VDC) to the panel by using the mounting tab on the 3E-5239 Relay As (24 VDC). Refer to Illustration 1 and Table 3.
