The hydraulic system provides oil for the braking system, the steering system, the decking blade, the differential lock, the boom, the arch, the tong, the grapple rotator, and the winch.

The hydraulic system contains the following components. Hydraulic tank (30) , hydraulic pump (26) , secondary steering pump and motor (29) (if equipped), priority flow control valve (11) , brake control group (2) , steering valve (12) , pilot valve (24) , control manifold for pilot oil and differential lock (22) , accumulator (16) , decking blade valve (13) , arch control valve (17) , boom control valve (14) , tong control valve (18) , control valve for grapple rotator (19) , grapple rotation motor (10) and cylinders (3) , (4) , (5) , (6) , (7) , and (8) . The hydraulic tank is common to all of the systems.

ReferenceFor more information about the secondary steering arrangement, refer to the Service Manual module Systems Operation, "Secondary Steering System" for the machine that is being serviced.

(30) Hydraulic tank

The hydraulic system is a load sensing, pressure compensated, closed centered system. Hydraulic pump (26) includes a pressure and flow compensator valve. The pump is located under the cab on the left side of the machine.

Hydraulic tank (30) is located in front of the cab. The hydraulic oil filters are mounted on the outside of hydraulic tank (30) .

Left steering cylinder (4) is mounted in the middle of the machine.

Decking blade cylinders (5) are located on each side of the machine at the front.

Boom cylinder (6) and arch cylinder (7) are located on the rear of the machine.

(24) Pilot valve

Brake control group (2) , priority flow control valve (11) , steering valve (12) , decking blade valve (13) , and relief valve (15) for the priority flow control valve are located in front of the cab on the right side of the machine. Access is gained by removing a cover.

ReferenceFor additional information on the braking system, refer to the Service Manual module Specifications, RENR8899, " Braking System". Also, refer to the Service Manual module Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, RENR8900, "Braking System".

Pilot valve (24) is located next to the seat on the right side of the machine. The accumulator (16) and the control manifold (22) are located on a block manifold in the compartment with the pilot valve (24) . Access is gained by opening a panel. Implement valves (14) , (17) , (18) , (19) , and (20) are located above the rear axle.

Right steering cylinder (3) is mounted in the middle of the machine.

Tong cylinders (8) are located on the grapple arm at the rear of the machine. Grapple rotation motor (10) is mounted on the grapple arm at the rear of the machine.

The grapple control lever is attached to multifunction pilot valve (24) . The grapple control lever is located on the right side of the cab next to the seat. The RAISE/LOWER function for the boom and the FORWARD and BACKWARD function for the arch are controlled by the grapple control lever.

Switches (31) and (33) for the grapple tong control are mounted in the grapple control lever. Switches (32) and (34) grapple rotator control are mounted in the grapple control lever. Grapple tong control (31) operates the CLOSE function of the tong. Grapple tong control (33) operates the OPEN function of the tong. Grapple rotator control (32) and (34) rotates the grapple.

Differential lock switch (36) enables the differential lock for the axles.

ReferenceFor additional information on the grapple, refer to the Service Manual module Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, RENR8903, "Grapple".

Decking blade control lever (35) is located on the right side of the cab next to the seat. Decking blade control lever (35) operates the RAISE/LOWER function of the decking blade.
