Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil. Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system. Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. |
Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement. Sudden movement of the machine can cause injury to persons on or near the machine. To prevent injury or death, make sure that the area around the machine is clear of personnel and obstructions before operating the machine. |
The following procedure is designed to check the pressure for the front differential lock and the rear differential lock.
- Lower the grapple and the decking blade to the ground.
- Move the transmission direction switch to the NEUTRAL position. Engage the parking brake.
- Stop the engine.
- Install the steering frame lock.
- Remove the cover from the right side of the machine.

- Start the engine. Run the engine at high idle.
- Observe the pressure gauge. There should be no pressure.
- Press the differential lock switch to the ON position.
- Observe the pressure gauge. The pressure should read 2830 ± 140 kPa (410 ± 20 psi).
- If the pressure is correct go to Step 13. If the pressure is incorrect go to Step 12.
- Check the hydraulic system.
- Stop the engine. Disconnect the pressure gauge.
- Move the steering frame lock to the STORED position.
