Position Sensor (Tilt Linkage) - Replace

Usage:

992G AZX
Before replacing the tilt linkage position sensor, prepare the machine for troubleshooting. Refer to the Service Manual module Testing and Adjusting, "Machine Preparation for Troubleshooting" for the machine that is being serviced.

(1) Boom. (2) Boom link. (3) Bolts. (4) Electrical connector. (5) Bushing. (6) Sensor assembly.

Sensor Removal

  1. Unplug electrical connector (4) from the wire harness.

  1. Remove the three bolts (3). Remove sensor assembly (6) .

  1. After removing sensor assembly (6), loosen bolt (9) and remove arm (7) .

  1. Remove bolt (10) and the clip that is holding electrical connector (4) to the plate. Remove five bolts (8) that are holding the position sensor to the plate.

  1. Remove the position sensor.

Sensor Installation

  1. Position the new sensor on the plate and install five bolts (8) .

  1. Position arm (7) on the shaft for the position sensor. Tighten bolt (9) .

    Note: Align the flat in the bore on arm (7) with the flat on the sensor shaft.

  1. Install the clip that holds electrical connector (4) to sensor assembly (6). Tighten bolt (10) .

  1. Position sensor assembly (6) on boom (1). Install three bolts (3).

    Note: At installation of sensor assembly (6), position the fork on the end of the shaft over the bushing (5) on boom link (2). Tighten bolts (3) .

  1. Install the connector on the wire harness to connector (4) .

  1. Complete the calibration procedure for the tilt linkage position sensor.

    Reference: For calibration information, refer to the Service Manual module Testing and Adjusting, "Position Sensor (Tilt Linkage) - Calibrate".
