Lift Arm Bearings - Remove and Install

Start By:

  1. Remove the lift arms. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Lift Arms - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.

Note: The installation of the lift arm bearings is similar, so only two tool setups are shown.

  1. Remove lip seals (2) from lift arm (1) .

  1. Remove the lip seals. Use Tooling (D), (C), (B), and (A) in order to remove the bearings that are in the bores for the lift cylinders.

  1. Remove the lip seals. Use Tooling (E), (B), (F), and (A) in order to remove the bearings that are located on both sides, nearest to the bucket.

  1. Remove lip seals (2). Use Tooling (G), (B), (C), and (A) in order to remove bearings (3) in the upper part of lift arms (1) on both sides.

Installation Procedure

    Note: The installation of the lift arm bearings is similar, so only two tool setups are shown.

  1. Lower the temperature of the bearings for the lift arms. Use Tooling (A), (B), and (D) (not shown) in order to install the bearings that are in the bores for the lift cylinders on each side.

  1. Use Tooling (E), (B), and (A) in order to install the bearings that are nearest to the bucket on both sides.

  1. Use Tooling (A), (B), and (G) in order to install bearings (3) on both sides of lift arms (1) .

    Note: Lubricate the lip seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

  1. Use Tooling (H) in order to install all seals (2) in lift arms (1). Install the lip seals with the lip toward the outside.

  1. Coat all bores for the pin assemblies with 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease .

End By: Install the lift arms. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Lift Arms - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
