Description of Change: The symmetric seal roller that was introduced in IRM, UC98-16 now uses a stronger retainer, smaller collars, longer bolts and counterbored bolt holes in the rim.

These features provide improved retention of the retainer bolts. Both the former symmetric duo-cone seal roller and the inverted duo-cone seal roller are cancelled and replaced by the improved design.

Longer retainer bolts are required with the new roller shell.

Adaptable To: The improved rollers are adaptable to D11N (S/N: 4HK1-UP; 74Z1-UP), and D11R (S/N: AAF1-UP; 8ZR1-UP; 9TR1-UP; 9XR1-UP; 7PZ1-UP) Track-Type Tractors. The improved rollers are effective with D11R (S/N: AAF134-UP; 7PZ298-UP) Track-Type Tractors.

For rebuild of former symmetric groups, the former parts in Table 4 must be replaced.

Former symmetric duo-cone seal rollers may be reworked. Use the following procedure.

1. Disassemble the 156-1007 Track Roller or 156-1008 Double Flange Track Roller .

2. Drill twelve holes 16.5 + .4 - .15 mm (0.650 + 0.016 - 0.006 inch) diameter counterbore 18 ± 1 mm (0.709 ± 0.040 inch) deep.

3. Discard two 155-9021 Retainers (8). Replace the former retainers with two 180-4995 Retainers .

4. Discard two 154-3304 Collars (6). Replace the former collars with two 184-2607 Collars or lathe turn the 154-3304 Collars to an OD of 124 ± .25 mm (4.882 ± 0.010 inch).

5. Discard twelve 0S-1589 Bolts (10). Replace the former bolts with twelve 031-1382 Bolts .

6. Reassemble as 184-6305 Track Roller or 184-6306 Double Flange Track Roller .
