Replacement Counterweights And Information For Replacement Of Counterweights And Balancing The Crankshaft{1202,0652}

All D379, D398, D399, G379, G398 and G399 Engines
Replacement counterweights for the crankshafts in the above engines are now available for service. When the new 5L2662 and/or 6L8201 Counterweights are installed on a crankshaft, the crankshaft must be balanced before it is installed in the engine. Special Instruction, Form SEHS8320, has the specifications that are needed to balance these crankshafts.
Formerly, the counterweights were not available separately. If a crankshaft counterweight was damaged, a replacement of the complete crankshaft had to be made.
