Usage:
3208 Marine Engines
Description of Change: A new auxiliary sea water pump is used on 3208 Marine Engines. The new pump has a larger diameter impeller with more vanes which gives the correct amount of coolant flow at the decreased speed of the new pump. The vanes on the new impeller are thinner and more flexible than the vanes on the former impeller. The new impeller and the decreased speed of the new pump group will help give it a longer service life than the former pump group.
Adaptable As: The new auxiliary sea water pump group is a direct replacement for the former pump group when used together with the new lines group and belt guard group shown in the chart.
See Illustration 1 for the location of the parts used in the new pump group and new lines group. See Illustration 2 for the location of the parts used in the new belt guard group.

NOTE: Use two 7B3235 Bolts, two 1D4719 Nuts and two 2M849 Washers to fasten the 4W3172 Bracket to the engine front support.
A 2W9253 Pump Kit is available when it is necessary to make a replacement of the impeller, gasket or seals in the 1W9046 Pump Group (part of the 2W9142 Pump Group).
