Engine Oil Filter Base - Install

Installation Procedure

All Engines


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Install a new O-ring seal and put engine oil manifold (7) in position on the engine.

  1. Install nut (6) and tighten the nut to a torque of 80 N·m (59 lb ft).

  1. Remove the caps or the plugs from the openings and connect hose (3) and hose (4) to the original location on engine oil manifold (7) .

  1. Put engine oil filter base (2) in position on the engine and install bolts (1) .

  1. Remove the caps or the plugs from the openings and connect hose (3) and hose (4) to the original location on engine oil filter base (2) .

  1. Install engine oil filter (5) onto engine oil filter base (2) .

    For engines that are equipped with a turbocharger, refer to "Turbocharged Engines" for more information.

  1. Put the gasket and engine oil filter base in position on the engine and install bolt (1) .

  1. Put engine oil cooler (2) in position on the engine oil filter base. Install stud (5) that fastens engine oil cooler (2) to the engine oil filter base.

  1. Remove the caps or the plugs from the openings and install the hoses and two hose clamps (4). Fill the cooling system to the correct level with coolant.

  1. Install engine oil filter (3) onto engine oil cooler (2) .
