Usage:
3508, 3512 And 3516 Engines
Description of Change: New O-ring seals are used in the water lines groups for 3508, 3512 and 3516 Marine and Generator Set Engines, and on 3508, 3512 and 3516 Industrial Engines when equipped with water-cooled manifolds. The new seals are used between the 7N7081 Elbows and the water manifolds. See the illustration.
The new seals are made of a different material than the former seals. This new material has more resistance to damage that is possible during installation of the seals. Also, the new seals will not twist as much as the former seals during installation.
Adaptable As: The new 4F7389 O-Ring Seal is a direct replacement for the former 9M7002 O-Ring Seals in these applications. Sixteen seals are used in the 3508 Engines; twenty-four seals are used in the 3512 Engines; and thirty-two seals are used in 3516 Engines.
