Description of Change: An improved gear carrier is now available. The new gear carrier is a solid design for increased strength and increased service life.
The gear carrier is used on engines when the flywheel and the driven equipment is attached to the front of the engine and the damper is attached to the rear of the engine. The damper group that is rear mounted contains the gear carrier. This allows the engine to be started with the starters that are mounted in the conventional location at the rear of the engine.
Adaptable To: The former 7E-8330 Gear Carrier is cancelled and replaced by the new 258-6581 Gear Carrier. The gear carrier is part of the 7E-8347 Damper Gp. The new gear carrier is effective with the serial numbers that are listed in Table 1.
