Removal Procedure

1. Park the machine on a hard, level surface. Lower the scraper bowl to the ground and engage the parking brake. Chock the wheels in order to prevent the machine from moving.

Pressurized air can cause personal injury. The air supply lines are pressurized to 830 kPa (120 psi). Purge the air from the system before performing any maintenance to the air system.

2. Purge the air from the air tanks.

3. Put identification marks on all lines, hoses, wires, and tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses and tubes.

4. Install a 1/2" - 13 NC lifting eye to the rear access panel. Attach a nylon lifting strap and a hoist to the rear access panel. Remove four bolts (1) that secure rear access panel (2) to the machine. Remove rear access panel (2) from the machine. The rear access panel weighs 88 kg (194 lb).

5. Disconnect two hose assemblies (3) from brake actuator (4) .

6. Loosen adjustment screw (5). Loosen worm shaft (6) until pin (7) can be removed. Remove cotter pin (8) that secures pin (7) to yoke assembly (9). Remove pin (7) that secures yoke assembly (9) to the slack adjuster. Move yoke assembly (9) away from the slack adjuster. Remove two nuts (10) and the washers that secure brake actuator (4) to the machine. Remove brake actuator (4) from the machine.
