Remove the Alternator

Note: Mark all belts and wires for identification purposes.

1. Disconnect wires (2) from the alternator.

2. Remove the nut and wire clip (3) .

3. Loosen nuts (1) and bolt (4) . Remove belts (5) from the pulley.

4. Remove nuts (1) and bolt (4) . Remove the alternator mounting bolt and the alternator.

Install the Alternator

1. Install the alternator and the alternator mounting bolt. Install nuts (1) and bolt (4) .

2. Replace belts (5) on the pulley. Adjust tension on belts (5) . Tighten nuts (1) and bolt (4) .

   Note: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7115-01, "Alternator and Fan Belts - Inspect/Adjust/Replace" for the correct belt tension. Measure the belt tension on the belt farthest from the engine block. If replacement of one belt in a belt set is necessary, replacement of the complete set is required.

3. Replace the nut and wire clip (3) .

4. Connect wires (2) to the alternator.
