The check valves are used to allow air to flow in one direction only. Air that is entering the check valve through inlet (6) will force spring (5) in compression and valve (4) will open. Air under pressure is now free to flow through the check valve.
Air that is entering the check valve through outlet (7) will push valve (4) against seat (3). The flow of air is stopped.
