The FT1649 Adapter can be fabricated for use with the cylinder repair stand. This adapter is necessary to fasten hydraulic cylinder rods (with no clevis) to the end post on the repair stand.
The adapter fastens to the end of the rod. See the illustration. The end plate has holes and slots to fit many different cylinders. The other end of the adapter has a boss with a tapered hole. The tapered hole will fit cylinders with a ball stud pivot. This permits the cylinder rod to be fastened to the stand without removal of the ball stud from the rod.
The adapter can be used on any Caterpillar hydraulic cylinder repair stands with an end post stud that is 1.50" in diameter or smaller.
Your Division Service Manager has the drawings needed to fabricate the adapter.
