Use 6V6018 Skiving Vise To Hold XT Hose Assemblies{0623,0626,7554}

Usage:

The 6V6018 Skiving Vise is now available to hold all sizes of XT hose during skiving procedures. See the illustration. Skiving is the removal of the outer layers of hose material. This is done before the hose coupling is installed. Formerly, users of XT hose were given instructions to hold the hose in a shop vise or in the hose press. These methods have low efficiency and will not work well if the hose is long or has been in storage for long periods of time.

The new skiving vise is made of cast iron, and because of its design, hose assemblies can be put into position and held easily. This results in a hose skiving operation that is faster. There are two holes on the base of the vise to fasten it to a work bench.

The vise uses a 3/4"-10 coarse pitch clamping screw. This permits fast operation of the vise. The vise jaws can be easily turned over so that all sizes of XT hose can be held in the correct position when skived.

For best results, fasten the 6V6018 Skiving Vise to a work bench near the XT hose cutoff saw so that hoses can be quickly skived after they are cut to length.
