(1) Maximum permissible temperature of the gear for installation on the camshaft ... 315 °C (600 °F)
Note: Do not use a torch to heat the gear.
(2) Diameter of the surfaces (journals) for the new camshaft bearing ... 69.850 ± 0.013 mm (2.7500 ± 0.0005 inch)
Bore in front bearing for the camshaft after assembly ... 69.969 ± 0.048 mm (2.7547 ± 0.0019 inch)
Bore in the other six bearings for the camshaft after assembly ... 69.982 ± 0.061 mm (2.7552 ± 0.0024 inch)
(3) Interference fit between the gear and camshaft ... 0.037 to 0.123 mm (0.0015 to 0.0048 inch)
(4) Thickness of new thrust plate 4.65 ± 0.03 mm (0.183 ± 0.001 inch)
- End play of the camshaft ... 0.010 to 0.260 mm (0.004 to 0.010 inch)

(5) Height of camshaft lobe
(6) Camshaft lobe lift
- Exhaust lobe ... 8.900 mm (0.3504 inch)
- Inlet lobe ... 8.900 mm (0.3504 inch)
Use the following procedure to find the camshaft lobe lift.
- Measure the camshaft lobe height (5) .
- Measure the base circle (7) .
- Subtract the base circle from the camshaft lobe height. The difference is actual lobe lift (6) .
Maximum permissible difference between actual lobe lift and the specified lobe lift of a new camshaft ... 0.13 mm (0.005 inch)
