Usage:
START BY:
a. tilt cab (24° position)
*This operation is in the Vehicle Systems Disassembly And Assembly section.
1. Remove oil inlet line (1) and oil outlet line (2) from the turbocharger. Install plugs in the openings in the turbocharger and cylinder block.
2. Loosen hose clamps (3).
3. Remove bolts (4) that hold the air inlet pipe to the bracket on the rear of the engine.
4. Remove four nuts (5) that hold the turbocharger to the exhaust manifold.
5. Remove four bolts (6).
6. Remove the turbocharger and coupling (7) from the exhaust manifold.
7. Remove the coupling from the turbocharger.
Install Turbocharger (953)
1. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of the bolts and studs that hold the turbocharger and exhaust elbow in place.
2. Put coupling (2) in position on the turbocharger. Put the turbocharger in position on the exhaust manifold and hoses (1). Install the nuts and bolts that hold the turbocharger to the exhaust manifold, and tighten them to a torque of 54 ± 6 N·m (40 ± 4 lb.ft.).
3. Install the bolts that hold exhaust elbow (3) to the exhaust manifold.
4. Install bolts (4) that hold the air inlet pipe to the bracket on the rear of the engine.
5. Tighten hose clamps (5).
6. Install the gaskets, inlet oil line (6) and outlet oil line (7) on the turbocharger.
