A New Cylinder Liner Is Available {1216}

A new cylinder liner is available for the 3606 and for the 3608 engines that are used in harbor tugs and anchor handling marine vessels. The new 179-3168 Liner is part of the 209-9890 Cylinder Block in the 3606 and part of the 209-6793 Cylinder Block in the 3608. This new cylinder liner provides an improved service life in engines that experience high thermal cycle loads. These loads are common in the above applications. The gray iron 179-3167 Cylinder Liner remains effective for all other applications. The new 179-3168 Liner uses bi-metallic construction in order to improve the fatigue life of the liner. The new cylinder liner is available through the normal parts distribution system.
