Travel Brake Valve - Disassemble

Usage:

OEMS L5E

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the travel brake valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Travel Brake Valve - Remove" in this section.

  1. Thoroughly clean the outside of the travel brake valve prior to disassembly.

    Note: During the disassembly of the travel brake valve, place identification marks on all of the components in the valve assembly for assembly purposes. Do not mix the parts.

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure.

    Spring force will be released when covers are removed.

    Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.

  1. Remove two cover mounting bolts (1) that are diagonal to each other. Slowly loosen the remaining two cover mounting bolts. Alternate between the two cover mounting bolts and loosen the bolts in small increments until the spring pressure is released. Remove cover (2) .

  1. Repeat Step 2 in order to remove the cover on the opposite side of the travel brake valve.

  1. Remove O-ring seals (5) from the valve body. Remove springs (3) and washers (4) from the valve body. Remove spool assembly (7) from the valve body.

  1. Remove crossover relief valve assemblies (8) from the valve body.

  1. Remove two check valves (6) from the valve body. Remove the plugs, O-ring seals, springs, and valves from the valve body.

  1. Use the following procedure to disassemble crossover relief valves (8) .

    1. Remove two backup rings (17) and O-ring seal (9) from valve body (10) .

    1. Remove nut (24), screw (16), O-ring seal (15), backup ring (23), stopper (22), O-ring seal (21), backup ring (13), and backup ring (14) .

    1. Remove piston (20), valve group (12), spring (19), spring (11), and seat (18) from valve body (10) .
