(1) Cover

Tighten the cover bolts evenly in small increases until the following torque is reached: ... 82 N·m (60 lb ft)

(2) Bolt

Torque for bolts ... 38 N·m (28 lb ft)

(3) Bolt

Torque for bolt ... 78 N·m (57 lb ft)

(4) Bolt

Tighten the bolt that holds the pinion to the following torque. Right hand side mounted starters have a left hand threaded bolt. Left hand side mounted starters have a right hand threaded bolt: ... 109 N·m (80 lb ft)

(5) Rotor clamp nut

Tighten the rotor clamp nut until the following clearance between the rear end plate and the rotor is reached: ... 0.03 to 0.08 mm (0.001 to 0.003 inch)

Check the clearance again after the bolt for the rotor clamp nut is tightened.

(6) Bolt

Tighten the bolt that holds the rotor to the following torque: ... 122 N·m (90 lb ft)
