Removal Procedure

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Remove the electrical connection from air inlet heater (1) .

- Remove air inlet heater (1) from the inlet manifold. Ensure that nut (3) is held. Remove ferrule (2) from nut (3) .
Installation Procedure
- Ensure that the threads are clean on air inlet heater (1). Apply 4C-9613 Silicone Sealant to the top of the threads on air inlet heater (1) .
Note: If nut (3) was removed, apply 4C-9613 Silicone Sealant to the threads. Tighten the nut.

- Install ferrule (2) into nut (3). Install air inlet heater (1) into nut (3) and tighten.
- Install the electrical connection onto air inlet heater (1) .
