Installation Procedure

1. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the travel motor and the final drive.

2. Check the condition of the O-ring seal that is used between the travel motor and the final drive. If the O-ring seal is damaged, use a new part for replacement.

3. Install the O-ring seal on the body to travel motor (4). Apply clean hydraulic oil on the O-ring seal.

4. Fasten Tooling (A) and a hoist to travel motor (4), as shown. Carefully install the travel motor on Tooling (B). Slide the travel motor into the final drive.

5. Install one of the three bolts (3). Remove Tooling (B) and install the remaining two bolts (3) .

6. Connect hose assemblies (1) and (2) to the travel motor. Tighten the two hose assemblies to a torque of 80 ± 7 N·m (60 ± 5 lb ft).

Note: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities" for the correct filling procedure and for the correct levels.

7. Fill the final drive with hydraulic oil to the correct level.

End By: Install the travel brake valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Travel Brake Valve - Install" in this section.
