Assembly Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


  1. Lubricate all of the components with clean engine oil.

    Note: Inspect O-ring seal (8) for wear or for damage. If the O-ring seal is worn or damaged, use a new part for replacement.

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.

    To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.

  1. Install adjusting screw (6) and nut (5) to rocker arms (1) and rocker arms (2) .

  1. Position rocker shaft (7) in the end of base (9) .

  1. Gradually insert rocker shaft (7) and install rocker arm (1) .

  1. Insert rocker shaft (7) and install rocker arm (2) .

  1. Slide rocker shaft (7) through washer (3) and spring (4) .

  1. Repeat Steps 2 through 6 in order to install the remaining components.

End By: Install the rocker shaft and the pushrods. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rocker Shaft and Pushrod - Install".
