Rocker Shaft - Disassemble

Usage:

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the rocker shaft and the pushrods. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rocker Shaft and Pushrod - Remove".


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.

    Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.

    Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.

  1. In order to remove rocker arms (1), rocker arms (2), washers (3), and springs (4) slide rocker shaft (7) from the end of base (9) .

    Note: Place an identification mark on each of the components for installation.

  1. Remove adjusting screws (6) and nut (5) from rocker arms (1) and rocker arms (2) .

  1. Inspect all of the components from base (9) for wear or for damage. If any of the components are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

  1. Inspect O-ring seal (8) for wear or for damage. If the O-ring seal is worn or damaged, use a new part for replacement.
