Introduction

This Special Instruction provides information to improve the cab sealing on certain D series Excavators. The current cab design has some leaking points in areas such as the console, HVAC holes or around the window frame. Follow the procedure below to improve the cab sealing performance.

    (2) 189-2702 Seal

  1. Remove the 189-2702 Seal on top of the bracket of the 176-1958 Cab Window Gp .

    (4) 477-7578 Seal

  1. Install the 477-7578 Seal on top of the bracket of the 176-1958 Cab Window Gp .

    (5) 185-8161 Insulator

  1. Remove the former 185-8161 Insulator behind the console support for both LH & RH.

  1. Clean the floor surface before adding the insulators.

    (7) 185-8161 Insulator HE01

  1. Add the new 185-8161 Insulator behind the console support for both LH & RH.

  1. Add the new 5P-5927 Seal on the front of the console support.

  1. Add the 475-4173 Insulator around the harness on the left-hand console support.
