• The engine speed is between 50 rpm and 400 rpm.

• The jacket water coolant temperature is below 30 °C (86 °F).

The duration of ether injection varies linearly with the jacket water coolant temperature. The duration of ether injection varies within the following range.

• 15 seconds at the maximum temperature of 30 °C (86 °F)

• 130 seconds at the minimum temperature of -50 °C (-58 °F)

The longest duration of ether injection is 130 seconds even if the jacket water coolant temperature is below -50 °C (-58 °F).

A switch input is provided to the ECM in order to allow the operator to manually inject ether. Manual ether injection can occur when the following conditions are met.

• The ether switch is in the manual position.

• The engine speed is above 50 rpm.

• The jacket water coolant temperature is below 30 °C (86 °F).

Note: If the engine is equipped with an ether aid system, then the "Configuration Parameter" for "Ether Aid" must be programmed "ON".
