Bolt Tightening Sequence

Note: Before installation of the flywheel housing, inspect the following components for any foreign materials: front face of the flywheel housing, both sides of the flywheel housing gasket and rear face of the cylinder block. These components must be free of the following substances: oil, fuel, water, gasket adhesive, assembly compounds and any other foreign material.

1. In the numerical sequence, tighten bolts 1 through 24.

   Torque ... 40 ± 7 N·m (30 ± 5 lb ft)

2. In the numerical sequence, tighten bolts 1 through 9.

   Torque ... 135 ± 20 N·m (100 ± 15 lb ft)

3. In the numerical sequence, tighten bolts 10 through 24.

   Torque ... 55 ± 7 N·m (41 ± 5 lb ft)
