Alternator - Remove and Install

Usage:

Removal Procedure

  1. Turn battery disconnect switch (1) to the OFF position.

  2. Open the engine hood.

  3. Remove sheet assembly (2).

  4. Remove belt (3). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belts - Inspect/Adjust/Replace".

  5. Disconnect cable assembly (4), harness assembly (5), and cable assembly (6).

  6. Remove bolts (7) and alternator (8).

  7. Remove nut (10) and pulley (9).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install alternator (8) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten nut (10) to a torque of 127 ± 10 N·m (94 ± 7 lb ft).

    2. Tighten cable assembly (6) to a torque of 18 ± 2 N·m (160 ± 18 lb in).

    3. Tighten cable assembly (4) to a torque of 4 ± 1 N·m (35 ± 9 lb in).
