Crankshaft Vibration Damper and Pulley - Remove and Install

  1. Remove guard assembly (1) .

    Note: The combined weight of the vibration damper and the crankshaft adapter is approximately 22 kg (48 lb). Remove the vibration damper and the crankshaft pulley before the crankshaft adapter is removed from the engine.

  1. Remove alternator belt (2) .

  1. Remove one of bolts (3) and install Tooling (A) .

  1. Remove the remaining bolts (3) . Remove vibration damper (5) from crankshaft adapter (4) . Remove Tooling (A) .

  1. Use a suitable tool to prevent the crankshaft from rotating. Use Tooling (B) to remove Torx screws (6) . Remove crankshaft adapter (7) .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the vibration damper and the pulley in reverse order.

    1. Tighten Torx screws (6) to a torque of 40 N·m (3 lb ft) plus an additional 120 degrees.

    1. Evenly space bolts (3) on vibration damper (4) . Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 115 N·m (85lb ft).
