Caterpillar Trailer Mounted Pumpers are identified with serial numbers. These numbers are shown on the Serial Number Plate and the Vehicle Identification Plate that are mounted on the pumper.
Caterpillar dealers need these numbers in order to determine the components that were included with the pumper. This permits accurate identification of replacement part numbers.

The Product Information Plates are located on the left side of the trailer near the front of the trailer.
Caterpillar engines are identified with serial numbers, performance specification numbers, and arrangement numbers. In some of the cases, modification numbers are used. These numbers are shown on the Serial Number Plate and the Information Plate that are mounted on the engine.

The following information is stamped on the Information Plate: engine's maximum altitude, horsepower, high idle rpm, full load rpm, fuel settings and other information.
The emission certification film (if equipped) is used to verify that the engine meets EPA regulations.
