- 将千分表固定在飞轮上，使千分表的测头接触飞轮壳的端面。
- 在每一点读取千分表的读数之前，向曲轴施加一个朝向后端的力。
- 转动飞轮，同时在位置 (A) 将千分表设置为 0.0 mm (0.00 in)。 在位置 (B) 、 (C) 和 (D) 读取千分表的读数。

检查飞轮壳的端面跳动 | |
- 在所有四个点测得的较低测量值和较高测量值之间的差异不得超过 0.50 mm (0.0197 in). 这些测量值是飞轮壳允许的最大端面跳动（轴向偏心度）。
飞轮壳镗孔跳动（径向偏心度）
- 将千分表固定在飞轮上，使千分表的测头接触飞轮壳的镗孔表面。
