  1. Loosen bolt (3) and use Tooling (A) in order to separate gear (2) from the pump shaft.

  1. Remove bolt (3), the washer, and gear (2) from the pump shaft.

  1. Remove tube assemblies (1) .

  1. Put an alignment mark across the sections of the fuel transfer pump. This is done in order to maintain alignment when the pump is assembled.

  1. Remove bolts (4) that hold the fuel transfer pump together, but do not separate the components at this time.

  1. Position the fuel transfer pump on the end of relief valve. This is the flat end.

    ------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure.

Spring force will be released when covers are removed.

Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.

    ----------------------

  1. Remove carbon face seal (10). The seal components are shown in the inset. Seal seat (7) was previously removed from the front housing.

  1. Remove O-ring seal (14) .

  1. Remove check valves (15) from middle housing (13) .

  1. Inspect bearings (16) in middle housing (13). The inside diameter of new bearings (16) must be 15.951 mm (0.6280 inch).

  1. If bearings (16) are worn or damaged, replacement of middle housing (13) is necessary.

    ------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure.

Spring force will be released when covers are removed.

Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.

    ----------------------

Note: Mark the location of relief valve plug (22) so that the relief valve plug can be installed in the same place.

Note: Do not change the position of the adjustment screw in relief valve plug (22) .

  1. Remove plug (21) from rear housing (23). Remove relief valve plug (22), guide (26), spring (25), and valve (24) from rear housing (23) .

  1. Inspect valve (24) and the valve seat in rear housing (23) .

  1. Inspect spring (25). The free length of spring (25) is 57.1 mm (2.25 inch).

  1. Inspect the washer and inspect relief valve plug (22). If the washer is damaged, relief valve plug (22) will need to be replaced.
