(1) Bolts

Quantity ... 37

Use the following procedure to torque 37 bolts (1).

1. Install 37 bolts (1) with one washer per bolt (1).

2. Tighten four of 37 bolts (1) that are separated by 90 degrees relative to each other to a torque of 800 ± 100 N·m (590 ± 74 lb ft).

3. Tighten 37 bolts (1) consecutively to a torque of 800 ± 100 N·m (590 ± 74 lb ft).

4. Turn 37 bolts (1) consecutively by an extra 90 degrees.

   Note: Bolts that have been used in a torque turn procedure should not be reused.

(2) Lubricate the seal lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

(3) Lubricate the seal liberally with 1U-6396 O-Ring Assembly Compound prior to assembly.

(4) Bolts

Quantity ... 108

Use the following procedure to torque 108 bolts (4).

Note: New bolts are recommended with this procedure.

1. Tighten all the bolts in a circular pattern to a torque of 1200 ± 100 N·m (885 ± 74 lb ft).

2. Repeat Step 1 to ensure that all the bolts are evenly tightened to a torque of 1200 ± 100 N·m (885 ± 74 lb ft).

3. Rotate each bolt by an extra 90 ± 5 degrees.

Note: Bolts that have been used in a torque turn procedure should not be reused.

(5) Lubricate the seal lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
