A portion of the hydraulic oil flows from the main control valve to the hydraulic oil cooler through return line (5). The oil is then cooled in hydraulic oil cooler (1). The oil exits the hydraulic oil cooler and returns to the hydraulic tank through return line (6). This maintains the proper oil temperature.

The portion of the hydraulic oil that does not flow through the hydraulic oil cooler flows back to the hydraulic tank through return line (3). This oil is not cooled by the hydraulic oil cooler.
