  1. Lower the temperature of bearing cone (46) .

  1. Install bearing cone (46) .

  1. Install lip seal (45) .

  1. Use Tooling (D) in order to install retaining ring (44) .

  1. Raise the temperature of bearing cone (43) and install bearing cone (43) onto shaft (42) .

  1. Install bearings (41) and shaft (42) .

    1. Install shim (30) and bearing cone (29) .

    1. Lower the temperature of bearing cup (24) and install the bearing cup in head assembly (21) .

    1. Position head assembly (21) onto the pump housing.

    1. Use Tooling (A) in order to measure the distance between the head assembly and the pump housing.

    1. Take measurements at three equal intervals on the surface between the head assembly and the pump housing.

    1. The average of the three dimensions is zero to 0.050 mm (0.0020 inch).

    1. Shim (30) must be replaced or ground to this dimension.

    1. Install bolts (20) in head assembly (21). Tighten bolts (20) to a torque of 55 ± 10 N·m (41 ± 7 lb ft).

    1. Use Tooling (F), Tooling (G), and a screwdriver in order to check for end play in shaft (42). If end play exists in the shaft assembly, repeat Step 6.a until the correct dimension is reached.

    1. Remove bolts (20) and head assembly (21) .

    1. Remove bearing cone (29) and shim (30) from shaft (42) .

    1. Proceed with the assembly of the pump housing assembly.

  1. Install swashplate (40) .

  1. Install pins (37), washer (38), and spring (39) .

  1. Use Tooling (A), Tooling (C), and a suitable press in order to install retaining ring (36) into barrel (35) .

  1. Install pistons (32) and retaining plate (33) .

  1. Install shim (30) and rotating assembly (31) .

  1. Install O-ring seal (25), spring (26), and piston (27) .

  1. Install O-ring seals (22) and port plate (23) .

  1. Install retainers (9), spring (10), spool (11), backup ring (12), adapter (13), and cartridge assembly (14) .

  1. Install backup ring (7), O-ring seal (8), and valve (6) .

  1. Install spool (15), retainer (16), spring (17), spring (18), and valve (19) .

  1. Install O-ring seals (3), coil (4), and nut (5) .

  1. Install valve (2) and bolts (1) .

End By: Install the fan pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Pump - Install".
