One of the following conditions exist:

• The signal wire is open between the sensor and the Timing Control Module (TCM).

• The ground wire is open between the -battery and the sensor ground.

• There is a difference in the voltage between the -battery and the sensor ground.

• The resistance of the sensor is greater than 800 ohms.

• There is an internal failure in the TCM.

System Response:

The TCM will signal the engine to shutdown. The TCM will activate the outputs for the shutdown and the remote indicator. The magneto will continue to fire at fully advanced timing. The "NO CRANK ANGLE SENSOR SIGNAL" LED will illuminate. The code may be viewed on the DDT.

Test Step 1. Perform the following test: Crank Angle Sensor (Open Circuit)

Results:

• OK - Stop.
