Note: If Tool (A) was removed, it will be necessary to set the engine to the top center position of the No. 1 cylinder on the compression stroke. Tool (A) must be installed in hole (X) before fuel injection pump gear (2) is installed.

  1. Put fuel injection pump gear (2) in position on the engine. Slide fuel injection pump gear (2) over Tool (A). Tool (A) is located in hole (X) .

Note: Fuel injection pump gear (2) will only fit in one position.

  1. Install four bolts (9) that fasten fuel injection pump gear (2) to the engine. Tighten the four bolts to a torque of 28 N·m (21 lb ft).
