Fan Motor (Radiator Cooling) - Install
Installation Procedure
- Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement. Lubricate the O-ring seals with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Attach a suitable lifting device and a hoist to fan motor (8). Install fan motor (8). The weight of fan motor (8) is 75 kg (165 lb). Install four bolts (11) and the washers to secure fan motor (8) to the support assembly.

- Attach a suitable lifting device and a hoist to fan (9). The weight of fan (9) is 100 kg (220 lb). Align fan (9) with the fan motor. Install bolt (10) and the washer to secure fan (9) to the fan motor. Remove the cardboard that is between the radiator and the fan.

- Connect three hose assemblies (7) to fan motor (8) .

- Attach a suitable lifting device and a hoist to guard (5). Install guard (5) to the right hand enclosure. The weight of guard (5) is 90 kg (200 lb). Install six bolts (6) and the washers to secure guard (5) to the right hand enclosure.

- Attach a suitable lifting device and a hoist to guard (3). Install guard (3) to the right hand enclosure. The weight of guard (3) is 114 kg (250 lb). Install eight bolts (4) and the washers to secure guard (3) to the right hand enclosure.
- Attach a suitable lifting device and a hoist to ladder (1). Install ladder (1) to the right hand enclosure. The weight of ladder (1) is 33 kg (75 lb). Install six bolts (2) and the washers to secure ladder (1) to the right hand enclosure.

- Open the blocker valves on the hydraulic tank. Check the oil level in the hydraulic tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil Level - Check" for more information.
- Purge the air from the hydraulic system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System - Purge".
