The swing brake solenoid is normally de-energized. When swing is requested, the solenoid is energized through contact J2-51. In order for the solenoid to energize, the following conditions must be present:
- The left armrest must be down.
- The operator is not requesting a lock of the implements.
- The switch (joystick) for the swing brake is open.
- Swing must be requested.
When a request for swing is made, the swing pressure switch closes to ground. The solenoid is energized until the request for swing is stopped. At 3.5 seconds after the request for swing has stopped, the solenoid is de-energized. The solenoid is immediately de-energized for the following conditions:
- The left armrest is raised to the UP position.
- Implement lockout is requested by the operator.
- The switch (joystick) for the swing brake is closed to ground.
If there is a diagnostic code for the armrest position switch, the solenoid will always be de-energized. If the state of the implement lockout switch is not known, the solenoid will always be de-energized.
