Solenoid (Auxiliary Hydraulic Oil Pressure)

This solenoid is located in the multifunction auxiliary valve. This solenoid controls the maximum pressure in the auxiliary hydraulic circuit. The solenoid (hydraulic oil pressure) is connected to the ECM at contact J2-40 (signal wire M744-PU) and contact J2-59 (ground wire H803-BU). This solenoid is activated proportionally in order to change the relief pressure in the auxiliary circuit. See Systems Operation, "Auxiliary Hydraulic System" for more information.

This solenoid is located in the multifunction auxiliary valve. This solenoid controls the maximum pilot pressure in the auxiliary circuit. By limiting the pressure, the amount of oil flow in the auxiliary hydraulic circuit is also reduced. The solenoid (hydraulic oil flow) is connected to the ECM at contact J2-41 (signal wire M745-BU) and contact J2-59 (ground wire H803-BU). This solenoid is proportionally activated in order to limit the amount of oil flow in the circuit. See Systems Operation, "Auxiliary Hydraulic System" for more information.

Solenoid (Engine Cooling Fan)

The solenoid (engine cooling fan) is referred to as the hydraulic demand fan. The solenoid is proportionally energized in order to vary the speed of the cooling fan. The solenoid is turned on when the hydraulic temperature and/or the cooling water is too high. The solenoid is connected to the ECM at contact J2-24 (signal wire C411-OR) and contact J2-13 (ground wire H804-GN). See Systems Operation, "Hydraulic Oil Cooling Function" for more information.

The swing pump solenoid (11) controls the hydraulic oil flow in the circuit for swing. The solenoid is connected to the ECM at contact J2-58 (signal wire K921-GY) and contact J2-57 (ground wire H803-BU).

This main pump solenoid (12) controls the hydraulic oil flow in the main hydraulic circuit. The solenoid is connected to the ECM at contact J2-48 (signal wire 960-BU) and contact J2-57 (ground wire H803-BU).

Solenoid (Travel Pilot Pressure)

The travel pilot pressure solenoid (9) is a proportional solenoid that is energized by a variable current output from the ECM. The ECM drives the solenoid from contact J2-51 (wire A881-YL). The ECM activates this solenoid when the conditions are correct in order to enable machine travel. When the solenoid is energized, pilot hydraulic pressure is supplied to the combination valve. Solenoid (Travel Motor Swash Plate Angle)

The travel motor swash plate angle solenoid (10) is a proportional solenoid that is energized by a variable current output from the ECM. The ECM drives the solenoid from contact J2-64 (wire F853-BR). The solenoid is connected to ECM ground at contact J2-52 (wire H801-PU). The ECM activates this solenoid when the conditions are correct in order to increase or decrease the amount of hydraulic oil flow that is available to the travel motor. This will result in an increase or a decrease in machine travel speed within the selected gear.

Solenoids (Medium Pressure 1 And 2)

The medium pressure solenoid 1 (13) and solenoid 2 (14) are proportional solenoids that are energized by a defined current output from the ECM. The ECM drives medium pressure solenoid 1 from contact J2-14 (wire P941-WH). The ECM drives medium pressure solenoid 2 from contact J2-3 (wire P942-YL). Medium pressure solenoid 1 is connected to ECM ground at contact J2-13 (wire H804-GN). Medium pressure solenoid 2 is connected to ECM ground at contact J2-12 (wire H805-BR). The ECM uses these solenoids in order to control the medium pressure attachments on the machine. The ECM energizes one solenoid or the other solenoid depending on the input from the right hand joystick thumbwheel sensor. For more information on the medium pressure solenoids, refer to Systems Operation, "Medium Pressure Hydraulic System".

Solenoid (Travel Motor Bypass)

Note: The travel motor bypass solenoid is equipped on machines in the following serial number ranges: BDR2001-UP, BDM2001-UP, BDX2001-UP, BCZ2001-UP, BDK2001-UP, BDY2001-UP, BEB2001-UP, H2A1-UP, H2B1-UP, H2C1-UP, H2D1-UP, H2E1-UP, H2F1-UP and H2G1-UP.

The travel motor bypass solenoid is a proportional solenoid that is energized by a variable current output from the ECM. The ECM drives the solenoid from contact J2-17 (wire J754-OR). The solenoid is connected to ECM ground at contact J2-12 (wire H805-BR). The ECM activates this solenoid during initial acceleration of the travel motor. When this solenoid is energized, some hydraulic flow is allowed to bypass the travel motor. The amount of current that the ECM sends to the solenoid is dependant on the amplitude of the travel command. This enables smoother machine acceleration without sudden, harsh movement of the machine.

Solenoid (Hydraulic Modulation)

The hydraulic modulation solenoid is equipped on machines in the following serial number ranges: BDR2001-UP, BDM2001-UP, BDX2001-UP, BCZ2001-UP, BDK2001-UP, BDY2001-UP, BEB2001-UP, H2A1-UP, H2B1-UP, H2C1-UP, H2D1-UP, H2E1-UP, H2F1-UP and H2G1-UP.

The hydraulic modulation solenoid is a proportional solenoid that is energized by a variable current output from the ECM. The ECM drives the solenoid from contact J2-25 (wire E711-OR). The solenoid is connected to ECM ground at contact J2-13 (wire H804-GN). The ECM will energize this solenoid in according to operator input from the hydraulic modulation enable switch on the right hand joystick and the hydraulic modulation mode switch on the SSP. When the ECM energizes the solenoid, hydraulic flow to the implement is modulated in order to control the operating speed of the implement. Hydraulic pressure for the implement is not affected. For more information on the hydraulic modulation function, refer to Systems Operation, "Hydraulic Modulation Function".

Solenoid (Swing Brake)

This solenoid is normally de-energized. This solenoid is energized when a request to swing is made. After the swing is completed, the solenoid is de-energized after 3.5 seconds. The solenoid (swing brake) is connected to the ECM at contact J2-51 (signal wire C995-YL) and contact J2-49 (ground wire H802-GY). See Systems Operation, "Swing Brake Function" for more information.

Solenoid (Parking Brake)

The solenoid (parking brake) is connected to the ECM at contact J2-55 (signal wire C744-PU) and contact J2-36 (ground wire H807-YL). This solenoid is energized in order to release the parking brake. The solenoid (generator) is connected to the ECM at contact J2-25 (signal wire E984-BU) and contact J2-13 (ground wire H804-GN). This solenoid is energized in order to turn off the generator. See Systems Operation, "Generator Function" for more information.

Solenoid (Creeper Speed)

This solenoid is located in the multifunction auxiliary valve. This solenoid controls the direction of the return flow in the auxiliary hydraulic circuit. The direction solenoid (hydraulic oil) is connected to the ECM at contact J2-63 (signal wire M746-GY) and contact J2-52 (ground wire H801-PU). This solenoid is energized in order to force the auxiliary oil flow to return directly to the tank. This solenoid regulates the flow in the following operations: one-way flow and two-way flow. one-way operation allows the regulated oil to flow through the multifunction auxiliary valve in one direction. The other direction will return to the tank. This type of operation is for use with a hammer. Two-way operation allows the regulated oil to flow through the multifunction auxiliary valve in both directions. This type of operation is for use with a rotating consumer. The ECM energizes transmission gear shift solenoid 1 from contact J2-62 (wire K923-PU). The ECM drives transmission gear shift solenoid 2 from contact J2-61 (wire K925-PU). Transmission gear shift solenoid 1 is connected to ECM ground at contact J2-52 (wire H801-PU). Transmission gear shift solenoid 2 is connected to ECM ground at contact J2-49 (wire H802-GY). The ECM uses these solenoids in order to activate the low speed gear or activate the high speed gear in the transmission. When the ECM energizes transmission gear shift solenoid 1, the transmission shifts to low gear. When the ECM energizes transmission gear shift solenoid 2, the transmission shifts to high gear. When both solenoids are de-energized, the parking brake is engaged. For more information on the transmission gear shift solenoids, refer to Systems Operation, "Travel Speed Function".
